Michael McKeon is an associate in the Business Litigation and Industrial and Consumer Product Liability Practice Groups in the Philadelphia office of Lavin O’Neil Ricci Cedrone & DiSipio. He concentrates his practice on product liability, premises liability, mass tort and insurance matters.

Mr. McKeon manages commercial, complex product liability, and insurance matters. He has conducted arbitrations, mediations and settlement conferences. He has managed and supervised local counsel for a national construction client.

Examples of Mr. McKeon’s experience include:

· Obtained defense verdict for arbitration involving personal injuries sustained following automobile accident

· Obtained dismissal on grounds of forum non conveniens for matter involving breach of contract for repairs made to an aircraft in Florida

· Argued successfully on behalf of commercial client whose employees were cited for violating a Pennsylvania law requiring drivers of commercial vehicles to be able to converse in English; citations were dismissed.

· Obtained voluntary dismissal for premises liability matter involving disputed property lines for leased premises

· Prepared appellate brief and reply brief for wrongful death in action which led to settlement for favorable client.

Mr. McKeon earned his Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where he was on the Dean’s list and served as Executive notes Editor for the Global Studies Law Review. Mr. McKeon graduated phi beta kappa and magna cum laude from Lehigh University, and played linebacker on the football team.

He is admitted to practice in the state courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia. He is also admitted to the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and New Jersey State bar associations.

Prior to joining the Lavin firm, Mr. McKeon was an attorney in the litigation group of the Washington, D.C. office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Personal

Mr. McKeon enjoys playing football and softball, painting and writing. He speaks Spanish and graduated from Episcopal Academy in 1996.
